Comparison
A flat-price receptionist that books to your calendar, against a full AI phone platform built around ServiceTitan. Different tools for different shops — here's how to tell which one you are.
Sameday is a phone system. On First Call is the narrow thing that catches the call you'd have missed. They're not the same product, and the right one depends on what kind of shop you run.
Sameday answers, routes calls through queues, runs outbound campaigns, scores your CSRs, and plugs into ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro and the rest. Its pricing starts at $449 a month for 500 minutes. On First Call answers the call, books it onto your Google Calendar, texts the customer and your crew, and tells you who didn't book. $199 a month, one tier, not metered by the minute.
Starts with 500 minutes. Unlimited users, three locations, a customisable AI, and pro scheduling into ServiceTitan and similar.
Starts with 1,000 minutes. Unlimited users and locations, voice cloning, and pro scheduling.
Multilingual voices, advanced analytics, hands-on training and support, API access, and custom integrations.
Pricing is by minutes; the page offers a slider from 50 to over 10,000 a month. Beyond the plans, the site describes call routing with queues (ring all, round robin, least calls), AI-run campaigns for reactivation, follow-ups and reviews, CSR coaching with per-call sentiment scoring, unified SMS threads, and transcript review. Integrations named include ServiceTitan (certified), Housecall Pro, FieldRoutes, AccuLynx, JobNimbus, Maid Central and Service Fusion, plus Thumbtack, Google Local Services, Angi and Facebook for leads. You can port your number or keep your carrier.
One plan, $199 a month. Answering around the clock, live booking onto your Google Calendar during the call, a confirmation text the customer can reply to in order to reschedule, recognising returning callers, a review request after each completed job, technicians running their day by text with no app, a text to you about each caller who didn't book, recordings, and a dashboard. No minutes to watch and no higher plan. Founder pricing for early businesses is on the pricing page.

If your jobs live in ServiceTitan or Housecall Pro, you have a dispatch desk, you run more than one location, or you want the phone system to also run marketing campaigns and score your CSRs — that's what Sameday is, and we're not that. We'd rather say it here than after you've booked a demo.
One calendar. One crew. No office. You want the call you'd have missed answered and booked, your technicians running their day by text from the van, and a message on your phone when someone called and didn't book. You don't want to learn a platform, and you don't want to watch a minutes counter in July.
That's the whole product, and it's why it's one price. The things Sameday has that we don't are real, and they cost money to build and run. If you don't need them, you shouldn't be paying for them.
We couldn't find a stated setup time on Sameday's site. Ours works like this: you keep your number and your carrier, and a code dialled on your phone forwards only the calls you don't answer. Your calendar connects from a link opened on your phone. Your prices and service area go into a short form, and the assistant says them in your words. You get a demo running on your own business within 24 hours of asking.
Neither price means anything until you know what a missed call costs you. There's a calculator on the homepage — your missed calls a week, your average job, your close rate. Ten seconds, and the number is yours.
At the starting price, yes: $199 a month flat against Sameday's Launch plan at $449 a month for 500 minutes, as of September 7, 2026. But they're different products. Sameday includes call queues, outbound campaigns, CSR coaching and field-service software integrations that On First Call doesn't have. Cheaper only matters if the narrower tool is the one you need.
Not today. On First Call books onto Google Calendar. If your dispatch lives in ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro, FieldRoutes or similar, Sameday's integrations are a real reason to choose it, and we'd rather tell you that here than in a demo.
Sameday's site describes transcript review and per-call CSR scoring inside its platform. On First Call reads each unbooked call and texts you directly — who it was, what they wanted, why they walked — right after the call ends. We couldn't find an equivalent text alert described on Sameday's site as of September 7, 2026; ask them.
On First Call, yes: they text the same number your customers call to block time, mark a job done, or say they're running late, and they get their day by text each morning. Sameday's plans are built around unlimited office users on the platform; we couldn't find a technician-by-text feature described on its site. Ask them directly.
More than one location, a dispatch desk, jobs living in field-service software, or you want the phone system to also run campaigns and score your CSRs: Sameday. One calendar, a crew in vans, no office, and you want the missed call booked and a text when someone didn't: On First Call.
